Crittall window painting
It was our pleasure to carry out this delicate crittall window painting, glazing and restoration project on the main gallery window at Spruth & Magers Art Gallery, London. Any maintenance on this busy listed building is really difficult, caused by the constant exhibitions and lot of guests. Carrying out all external maintenance works and the huge main crittall window painting and restoration works in a tight time frame was remarkable undertaking. Probably it wasn’t the most challenging and exciting abseiling window painting project in our practice, but carrying out all works according to our standards in the achievable highest quality, racing with the time, tested our skills and pushed our team to the limits. A huge rusty metal crittall window (Francis Henry Crittall), its rotting timber window frame and window sill, broken glasses, cracked and falling glazing putty required our special skills to bring these building parts back to the worth of this precious building. Our professionals replaced some broken glass panes, which spoiled the view through this window, and managed the restoration works in a very tight timeframe. This narrow window in the time made this abseiling window painting project challenging, but our rope access /abseiling/ painting services proved again that Repair Abseiling Limited provides the best, most professional and highest quality abseiling service in London. Next to this crittall window painting and restoration which retrieved the quality of this beautiful building part, some less spectacular issues also required our indispensable expertise. Repairing the leaking roof, replacing some broken slates, repair the pointing, brickwork and flaunching of the main chimney stack and repairing the leaking cast iron soil-pipe on the rear elevation were also on our to-do list in this project. Our team completed all of these works safely in time in budget, which made the opening ceremony sterssless for our customer eventually.
