Exterior building painting using abseiling kept our abseiler team really busy in the previous years. Despite the constant terrible wet weather conditions all year round, our painting projects started with a relatively big residential block painting project in Islington (Chillingworth Court) where all external STO rendered surfaces of this building were redecorated completely. Our team cleaned all coping stones, external wall surfaces, repaired all damages and imperfections of the rendering and mastic sealing of the window frames, applied STO fungal treatment and primer, and two coatings of STO Stocolor Silko G paint, which eventually gave a brand new appearance to the building. Over the redecoration of all white external wall surfaces a brand new special grey paint on the balcony rails and aluminium panels highlights the contrast of the new paintwork on this building, but there is no exterior building painting project without the final thorough window cleaning, which made the windows sparkling in the sunshine.
Exterior residential building painting
Painting, painting, painting … Meanwhile one of our team worked on some building maintenance and a painting project in Islington, the other abseiler painter team completed some smaller, exterior residential building painting projects throughout London. Repair Abseiling Ltd. worked for Spire Contractors on the rendering repair and redecoration work of two neglected elevations of a building in Romford which building was waiting for its new buyer and it had to show its ship-shape condition for the new owner. This special, curved shape building part, without any built in abseiling access points caused significant difficulties to our competitors, but our decades of experiences in the rope access / abseiling industry helped us to manage the access safely and really efficiently, so our abseiler painter team completed this exterior building painting project using abseiling / rope access techniques without using scaffolding.
Exterior commercial building painting
Our abseiler painter team just completed these exterior building painting projects, when a new exterior commercial building painting and redecorating projects was ordered by LW Theatre (Lloyd Webber Theatre) for the redecoration works of the Adelphi Theatre, Strand, London. This famous landmark of London is a listed building on Strand, which required comprehensive repairs of the tile cladding generally and the main “Adelphi” signage on the main elevation. Our team repaired and adjusted the other temporarily installed signages on the building, and painted over the metal structures of the vertical signage. The metal crittall window on the first floor, just above the canopy of the main entrance is also required some repairs and preparation for the painting process, but these black painted metal structures give a good contrast for the building. The canopy of the main entrance and its internal rainwater system required thorough gutter cleaning and repairs to eliminate the awkward leaking / overflowing issue, which affected the guests in case of any rain. Our team cleaned the main elevation using soft brushes and water fed pole system (reach’n wash) to achieve adequate surfaces and adhesion for the new paint, prepared and primed all surfaces for the redecoration works, repaired all imperfection of the tile cladding and rendering, and painted the building over in two coatings of paint, which retrieved the original shine of this historic building.
Exterior window painting
Exterior window painting using abseiling / rope access has been also a significant part of our projects in this period. Our handy operatives repaired and painted over numerous timber sash windows in Putney, next to the Putney Bridge. As some inaccessible parts of this building involved into the main, general exterior building refurbishment work, our professional team was invited for tendering and eventually carried out the minor repair and painting works of some inaccessible windows, and some pointing works on the back elevation of this mansion building. As the cost of this complex and difficult scaffolding process far exceeded the acceptable level of budget and the residents wanted to avoid this solution based on their negative experiences, Repair Abseiling Limited won this exterior painting project without scaffolding, using abseiling / rope access for this project. Our abseiler team provides this comprehensive service professionally, efficiently with the most competitive price, covering all labour, access and materials, which just barely exceeds the cost of the scaffolding only. Our professionals set up the adequate counterbalance anchor system to the roof for safe access, cleaned all surfaces of the walls, windows, balcony doors and the metal structures of all Juliet balconies using jet-wash (cold water high pressure washer), and prepared these surfaces for painting. However, the window and door frames were a relatively good condition generally, some smaller – bigger repairs had to be carried out to achieve the best quality and most even surface to carry out this window painting project. After the sanding and priming of the bare timber surfaces, the two coatings of paint resulted a beautiful, even and brilliant white final look of these windows and doors. Painting over all previously painted wall surfaces in two coatings of brilliant white Dulux Weathersfield was the other task in our undertaking, but some minor rendering repair had to be completed for the final perfect result. However we were there to carry out the main external building painting project without scaffolding, our professional team completed some minor leaking roof inspection and repair projects as well, which could highly affect the completed painting works subsequently.
Internal atrium painting
Painting over internal areas using abseiling / rope access is an unusual request / undertaking, but sometimes it can came up in our practice. As the building management team was looking for professional abseiler painting services for the Hyatt Regency Blackfriars Hotel internal atrium painting works, Repair Abseiling Limited came in a fore as the most competitive candidate for this delicate Internal atrium painting project, carried out by our rope access / abseiling painting team. Carrying out painting inside this delicate building successfully, just above the main lobby area, meanwhile the hotel and its guests preparing for the Christmas festive period was not an easy undertaking, but our professional abseiling services in London specialises in these complex and difficult projects especially. Over the painting of the internal wall areas, our team completed a drywall installation project as well on the 7th floor, where two half-done door openings of the lift shaft have been waiting for the completion for a long time. Carrying out drywall installation from A to Z, using abseiling – rope access on the 7th floor was challenging, but the final result is a seamless, white wall with no trace of the holes, left there by the builder of the aborted refurbishment / conversation works a couple of years ago.
